Jindal Films, a global leader in BOPP films manufacturing, has reached a major milestone in its sustainability journey with the validation of its near-term carbon reduction targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). As the first company in the BOPP industry to achieve this recognition, Jindal Films reinforces its leadership in driving science-based climate action across the value chain.

By joining more than 10,000 companies worldwide with SBTi-validated targets, Jindal Films commits to measurable, science-aligned decarbonization. This validation reflects a structured approach to reducing environmental impact, supported by robust internal monitoring systems and clear action plans across all operations.

A key pillar of this strategy is the company’s continued investment in renewable energy. Jindal Films has significantly expanded the use of in-house solar power, with photovoltaic installations deployed across all suitable areas within its manufacturing sites. Newly completed and ongoing projects in Belgium and Italy are further accelerating this transition, contributing directly to emissions reduction at source.

Complementing its operational efforts, Jindal Films is advancing circular product solutions through its portfolio of BOPP films with mechanically recycled post consumer content for non-direct food contact applications. These materials are certified under the LNE MPR standard, a robust and widely recognized third-party scheme endorsed by PolyCert Europe and the European Plastics Alliance. This ensures full traceability and credibility of recycled content, enabling converters and brand owners to confidently meet EU Green Claims requirements, upcoming PPWR targets, and rising expectations for transparency.

These solutions are part of Jindal Films’ broader “Re Range” portfolio, which provides a comprehensive suite of externally certified circular and responsible film options, including:
• Mechanically recycled content with full traceability under the LNE MPR scheme
• Chemically recycled BOPP, ISCC+ certified via mass balance, enabling food-contact applications without compromising performance
• Bio-circular BOPP, also ISCC+ certified, derived from renewable sources such as used vegetable cooking oil

Together, these innovations support the transition toward a more circular economy while maintaining the high performance standards required by the industry.
Looking ahead, Jindal Films continues to translate ambition into measurable progress through science-based targets, operational decarbonization, and circular innovation. As the packaging industry prepares for the changes driven by the PPWR, the company positions itself as a trusted partner to its customers—helping transform regulatory requirements into practical, value-creating opportunities through certified solutions. This is the foundation of Jindal Films’ commitment to be Your partner towards PPWR.
